ABSTRACT:

Systematic Reviews - summaries of research in the medical domain - are of great importance for healthcare providers. The amount of information in medical repositories increases at a tremendous rate. Systematic Review Systems help healthcare providers to keep up-to-date with all the research relevant to various topics of interest. In this talk, I will give a brief overview of what a Systematic Review is, how it is done, and most importantly, where can Machine Learning techniques help in a Systematic Review System.
The Machine Learning task that needs to be solved is a text classification task on medical domain texts. I will present two methods to solve the task. The first one follows a straightforward technique, while the second one is a new technique that takes into account the specifics of the Systematic Reviews.
