TITLE: | Artificial Intelligence -- A Personal Story |
PRESENTER: | Stan Matwin University of Ottawa |
ABSTRACT: In this presentation I will share my view of the fifty-year long evolution and progress of the field of Artificial Intelligence. I will present five theses that I believe should guide the research in this field. I will relate them to the recent (and not so recent) AI successes, as well as to some of my research projects, focusing on applications. I will look at selected current trends and I will offer (untested) conjectures about the possible future of the field. |
