The goal of this talk is to present our ongoing work on the development of an adaptive intelligent tutor for French. After a discussion of which linguistic skills to be covered by our system, we will talk about the adopted architecture and the intended learning scenarios. Focus will also be made on the learner profiling issue and how to make our system adapt not only to the prior knowledge of the learner but also to his learning profile. A discussion of the evaluation techniques and issues will be made at the end of the talk.
